Pauline Tabor Talk by Mary Lucas
October 23 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
PAULINE TABOR PROGRAM
Join us to hear the story of one of Bowling Green’s most colorful characters, Pauline Tabor was known as the Madam at Six-Twenty-Seven Clay Street for nearly 25 years. A single mother during the Great Depression of the 1930s, Miss Pauline entered the world’s oldest profession to support both herself and her two children. However, she quickly learned that it was more profitable to be a madam than “one of the girls”, and so began her career as the owner of a brothel.
Mary Lucas, a local author, will speak about her book, The Madam of Six-Twenty-Seven Clay Street. The book shares the true story of Pauline Tabor and many interesting tales of her career in prostitution. Event attendees will get to view a snippet of Pauline’s appearance on “The Dick Cavett Show” from the early 1970s. There will also be time for audience Q&A and a book signing.
