Welcome to 2024! We hope you had a GREAT 2023 and will continue to have great experiences throughout this calendar year. At the RailPark, we have a year FULL of excitement with great events throughout the months. Check out some of our annual events coming up for 2024:
February- Romance at the RailPark
The Historic RailPark and Train Museum hosts a unique Valentines’ dining experience! Our annual event, Romance at the RailPark, is a date you and your loved one will never forget. Reservations are required in advance, so you can pre-select your dinner and dessert! Couples board our restored railcars where they are served a delicious four-course meal onboard, enjoyed with wine purchased from the cash wine bar. Inside the Grand Lobby of the L&N Depot, guests can enjoy entertainment and capture the moment at the photo booth, where commemorative keepsakes will be printed. Plus, the romantic evening includes a movie shown in our private theater upstairs in the museum. Celebrate your love in a unique, intimate setting and join us for Romance at the RailPark on Valentines’ weekend!
March- Sip & Putt Mini Golf Scramble
Sipping, Sampling, and Putting is the best way to describe the activities of the Historic RailPark & Train Museum’s Sip & Putt Mini Golf Scramble! For the 4th annual Sip & Putt event, guests can expect the RailPark transformed into the ultimate mini-golf course. We cannot wait to see guests sink a hole-in-one while sampling beverages amongst the alcohol vendors. Guests group up in teams of four, coming together to join us in our grand lobby to enjoy food and libations. Each team will have a table along with scorecards, putters, and balls. Teams will play a 9+ hole challenge. Awards will be given in several categories including an overall winning team and a winning corporate challenge team. Whether you go bogey or birdie, you will have a great day at Sip & Putt!
July- BG Wine Fest
July is WINE TIME! The second Saturday in July is our Annual BG Wine Fest held inside the Historic L&N Depot and on our front lawn. Join us for a day of sipping, shopping, and snacking. BG Wine Fest is a fabulous summer event you won’t want to miss. This event boasts wine tastings from many vineyards across the Commonwealth as well as food trucks, boutique shopping, and live music. There are we are VIP tickets for guests to purchase! In addition to the commemorative wine sampling glass and keepsake wine tote general admission guests receive, VIP guests will get additional wine tastings exclusive to VIP ticket holders only!
August/September- RailPark Rendezvous
The RailPark Rendezvous is a fabulous evening celebrating the efforts of the RailPark over dinner, drinks, and a show. The Rendezvous is an event we put on to fundraise for many different aspects of the Historic RailPark & Train Museum. The event helps fund the continued preservation of the eight vintage railcars inhabited at the RailPark along with the Historic L&N Depot. Every year, we invite guests to join us for a spectacular, themed evening to help raise money and to celebrate the Bowling Green Landmark. The Rendezvous is always a fun night, where in the past guests were able to participate in wine pulls, silent auctions, and MORE! For the 4th annual Rendezvous, the theme will be Dueling Pianos! We are excited to welcome guests for this decadent evening.
September-October- UnSeen BG Tours
UnSeen tours will continue to share the real and haunt past of Bowling Green this year! When the spooky season comes around, you are sure to find a fright during the these seasonal tours put on annually by a cast of characters portraying stories to celebrate the season throughout the city. Tour themes will be announced later this year and advance tickets will open to RailPark Members early.
December- Polar Express Storytime
One of the most beloved Bowling Green Christmas traditions is visiting the Historic RailPark & Train Museum for Polar Express Storytime. Every December, hundreds of families come dressed in their pajamas to board the train and listen to the story of the Polar Express! This event is a free experience, where we gather in a cozy, festive ambiance to kick off the start of the Christmas season with one of the most timeless holiday tales. Storytime will take place on the vintage, restored Duncan Hines Dining Car. Our guests will get to hear the story of Polar Express while sitting on a railcar in their pajamas just like the characters in Chris Van Allsburg’s book. In the Grand Lobby of the Depot, there will be hot chocolate and delicious treats to enjoy. Families are also welcome to take pictures at our Christmas-themed photo booth. The RailPark is overjoyed to be involved in so many families’ Christmas Traditions
As you can see, 2024 is PACKED with fun at the RailPark… So make sure you hop aboard! RailPark members do receive early access to ticketing for these wonderful events, so make sure you become a member in 2024 and get the first tickets available!
