Curated Wine Collection
The Historic RailPark and Train Museum is thrilled to announce the Curated Wine Collection, a collaboration with Carriage House Vineyards! The Curated Wine Collection is two specialty wines bottled and produced by Carriage House Vineyards to fundraise on behalf of the RailPark. These two bottles, “The RailPark Red” and “Whistle Stop White” are available now for pre-purchase, where the proceeds go towards the continued restoration efforts of the RailPark.
Don Davis, owner of Carriage House Vineyards, is happy to support the RailPark and its continued efforts to restore and preserve the Historic L&N Depot and vintage railcars. Don’s family has worked in the railroad industries for generations, with some of his relatives supporting their family as it grew as engineers and others, like his father, as yardmasters. Because of this, Don has always felt inspired by the Historic RailPark & Train Museum’s mission as a nonprofit to inhabit an educational feature to the Kentucky community about the L&N rail line.
The wines bottled, produced, and sold by Carriage House Vineyards are two specialty wines: “The RailPark Red,” which is a light-bodied cabernet sauvignon aged in American Oak, and a California Chardonnay named “Whistle Stop White.” These wines are currently aging in their barrels, waiting to be bottled and picked up at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum.
October 19th from 4:30-7:30 PM, the RailPark will host a pop-up tasting event for purchasers to pick up their pre-ordered wine and be amongst the first to taste the specialty bottles. A representative from Carriage House Vineyards will be present to describe the wines’ attributes as well as Hilltopper Creamery to provide a charcuterie-style spread to pair with the wines. This is a complimentary event held in the Historic L&N Depot’s lobby, where the community can gather to try this special collaboration and take home their fundraising bottles.
There are only 300 bottles of each wine available for pre-purchase, so make sure to shop the Curated Wine Collection and get your specialty bottles! In the future, Carriage House Vineyards will have Satellite Tasting Rooms at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum for guests to sample and purchase the Curated Wine Collection.
