“Fire and Ice” Rendezvous Recap

Rendezvous Recap

September 14, the Historic RailPark & Train Museum hosted the 3rd annual RailPark Rendezvous. The signature fundraising event was themed “Fire and Ice,” with hot decor, cool drinks, and amazing live entertainment. Over 180 guests joined us in celebrating the museum’s history, projects, and exhibits during the tasteful “Fire & Ice” evening.

We welcomed 150+ friends to the RailPark that day. Our guests mingled about the Historic L&N Depot lobby, drinking our signature cocktails and bidding on the 30 silent auction items. Our attendees enjoyed dinner from RSF Your Bluegrass Kitchen along with a super cool live performance from Beyond Wings Nashville.

The silent auction was PACKED with goodies donated from businesses across Kentucky & surrounding states. Bidders brought out their competitive side for a chance to win one of 30 amazing packages. We were thrilled to see the involvement and guests collecting their winnings with a smile!

Beyond Wings of Nashville returned for the second year of the Rendezvous. Last year they performed circus acts for our “Circus Circus” Rendezvous, but for the “Fire & Ice” Rendezvous they held a battle of the elements. The performance not only entertained, but left the crowd stunned!

Attendees commemorated the night with tasty fire and ice-cake pops. We also witnessed many guests leave with their mystery bottles of wine from the fundraising Wine Pull.

The proceeds from this event will be used to help fund the continued preservation of the historic L&N Depot building as well as the 8 vintage railcars that are housed at the RailPark. Funding from events like the Rendezvous is critical to the continued operation of the nonprofit to allow our staff and volunteers the resources needed.

Overall: the 3rd RailPark Rendezvous was a HOT night! We always appreciate the support of our staff, volunteers, and community as we continue our efforts to Light the Depot.

If you were unable to attend this wonderful event, fret not! We hold our Rendezvous every year on the second Thursday of September. Go ahead and SAVE THE DATE:  September 12th, 2024! Drinks, dinner, and show are never more exciting than when we celebrate the Historic RailPark & Train Museum.

For those unable to join us, feel free to support the Historic RailPark & Train Museum by contributing to our annual fundraising campaign: Light the Depot!

To honor the 30th anniversary of restoration efforts, our 2023 fundraising campaign is themed “Light the Depot!” If you want to help continue lighting the depot, please make your contribution today!

Join us November 30th, 2023 to Light Up the Depot! At the Historic RailPark and Train Museum, we will be lighting up the Historic L&N Depot for Christmas during a festive evening.
