Wake up… Haunted Lantern Tours have returned! When the spooky season comes around, you are sure to find a fright during the Haunted Lantern Tours. Haunted Lantern Tours are seasonal tours put on annually by a cast of characters portraying stories to celebrate the season throughout the vintage railcars of the Historic RailPark & Train Museum. These haunted railcars come alive with each year’s themes. Some frightfully fantastic themes that have haunted the vintage railcars in the past are Phobias, Witches and Warlocks, Fairy Tale Shop of Horrors, and more grand and gruesome themes.
On this year’s Haunted Lantern Tours, we will hear the stories of “Nightmare at the Zoo!” Buckle up folks because it is going to be a WILD ride throughout our vintage railcars. At the “L&N Zoo,” guests will explore the Aviary, R.P.O. Reptilian House, and the Bearial Express! Animals from poisonous dart frogs to bears call the “L&N Zoo” their home… but this October, the animals have ESCAPED!
Our tour guides and zookeepers are fairly confident they can escort our visitors safely through the zoo as the animals lurk in the shadows. Their main priority is to avoid filling out accident reports AT ALL COSTS! That being said- the L&N Zoo is excited to open its doors to the community and hopeful to have the same amount of visitors exit the zoo as they entered!
The stories of “Nightmare at the Zoo” will debut THIS WEEK! The Historic RailPark & Train Museum will become the “L&N Zoo” for the very first time on October 19th! The Haunted Lantern Tours are evening tours, commencing at 6:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM. The tours are family-friendly, but we do express our admonishments to those with children who are not fans of things and events like haunted houses.
The Haunted Lantern Tours raise money for the RailPark’s continued preservation efforts. General admission pricing for the Haunted Lantern Tours is $12 for adults and $8 for children (ages 4-8). Tickets are available for purchase in advance online, which grants ticket holders access to “skip the line” and guarantee their tour time. Tickets are also available at the door.
