Shake Rag & Scandals: Spring with UnSeen BG

The stories you don’t see on the surface are often the ones worth discovering.

That’s the spirit behind UnSeen BG Tours, Bowling Green’s original after-hours storytelling experience—and for the first time ever, we’re bringing this unique series to the spring season!

Our inaugural spring lineup kicks off May 8 & 9 and runs on select dates through June, featuring two unforgettable tours that uncover the city’s lesser-known history with a mix of grit, grace, and bold personality.

Shake Rag Tour

Explore the rich and powerful history of Bowling Green’s Shake Rag District—one of the city’s first African American communities and a vital part of our shared cultural heritage.

This guided walking tour dives deep into the lives of educators, entrepreneurs, musicians, and community leaders who helped shape both Shake Rag and Bowling Green. Through compelling storytelling and thoughtful research, this tour honors the resilience and contributions of those often left out of the spotlight.

There are no costumes or theatrics—just authentic stories that deserve to be heard.

The REAL Housewives of Bowling Green

She’s back—and she brought some secrets with her.

Led by one fabulous costumed guide, this crowd-favorite tour returns with more sass, scandal, and surprises. Meet a cast of historical Bowling Green women who defied expectations and left their mark on the city’s past. Some were admired. Others were judged. All were unforgettable.

This tour brings history to life in the most unexpected way—combining fact, flair, and a healthy dose of drama.

Tour Schedule & Tickets

Spring tours begin May 8 & 9, with additional dates running through June. Tours start at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum and last approximately 75 minutes. Space is limited and tours often sell out—so reserve your spot early!

At the Historic RailPark, we believe history isn’t just about what’s been preserved—it’s also about what’s been overlooked. Join us this spring as we shine a light on the stories that deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered.

Come experience what’s been hiding in plain sight.
