The BG Trolley made its mark back in 2023 and received so much love. Between the tours and rentals, memories were made to last a lifetime. With its sleek and unique design, you can see it coming down the Square from a mile away. With all the love that comes, there unfortunately comes wear. Don’t worry though; the Trolley was just in need of a makeover.
The Trolley benches had seen some better days, but it was good to see that they were just getting use out of them. The team came up with a plan and got to work with the help of our hard-working volunteers. The start of the lengthy work process with dust flying and paint splattering, but the benches were making progress. To a blind eye, you might think that the benches were looking rough, but this is a process, one you must trust. The bare bones on the benches were there, and it was time to start coating them with the lacquer.
As the brush made its way across all the benches, the glow was refreshing. The benches were starting to come back to life. That was only the first coat though; they weren’t through making them sparkle and shine. Another tackle of expert standing to make the smoothest surface was possible. Then it was topped off with the next layer of polish, and once it dried, another one for extra durability and a beautiful shine.
After a couple of weeks, the Trolley benches were finished being restored. The craftsmanship and care that went into them are unmatched. They are shining through like never before. A noticeable difference from the condition they were in prior. The Trolley has become a staple of Bowling Green tourism, and it deserves extra attention. We are so grateful that the volunteers and our team were able to breathe life back into the benches. Catch your next hop on and take a seat on the restored benches!
